Industrial Process plant worker

Today in 2020, the energy sector seems to be slowly dying. Maybe it is low natural gas reserves or just general mismanagement of the entire industry as a whole. As a result many workers in this field are faced with job uncertainty as companies tend to Shutdown their processing sites. Low profit margins and higher cost of production seems to fuel this ever developing trend.

Sadly I am one of those workers and I now have to find a way to diversify and move away from the idea that I’m am going to keep this job until retirement. Every week there is new fears that workers are being cut and plants are being shut down. The breadline seems not so far away. The government doesn’t seem to care about what will happen to the industry in the next five to ten years. I can’t be like that. I have to find a back up in the event that one day I’m laid off.

So this is where I stand. I am trying to diversify. With a liking to computers and tech stuff, I find myself drawing closer to pursuing something in this field. Their is no other choice but stepping outside my comfort zone and start interacting more with people and building stronger relationships.
